One of New York’s most prestigious showcases is paying tribute to hometown boy Larry Fessenden with a three-week series of in-theater and virtual screenings.

Oh, the Humanity!: The Films of Larry Fessenden and Glass Eye Pix runs March 30-April 19, showing 22 features as well as “shorts and oddities” on the big screen at MoMA and on-line, with special guests at some of the shows. These include Fessenden’s directorial ventures NO TELLING, HABIT (pictured above), WENDIGO, THE LAST WINTER, BENEATH and DEPRAVED, plus his anthology entries “N is for Nexus” (from ABCs OF DEATH 2) and “Fever” (from ISOLATION). Then there are numerous movies from his Glass Eye Pix independent genre factory, such as Ti West’s THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL and THE INNKEEPERS, Jim Mickle’s STAKE LAND, Glenn McQuaid’s I SELL THE DEAD, Joe Maggio’s BITTER FEAST, Ana Asensio’s MOST BEAUTIFUL ISLAND, Jenn Wexler’s THE RANGER, Graham Reznick’s I CAN SEE YOU, James Felix McKenney’s AUTOMATONS and Robert Mockler’s LIKE ME, plus the thrillers STRAY BULLETS and FOXHOLE by Fessenden’s son Jack, Beck Underwood’s short AN EXQUISITE TASK and the non-genre features WENDY AND LUCY and RIVER OF GRASS by Kelly Reichardt, Rick Alverson’s THE COMEDY and Ilya Chaiken’s LIBERTY KID.
