Chilling religious horror film “SAINT MAUD” has a new release plan at last

Originally set for release earlier this year, the frightening, fascinating and much-acclaimed movie will be visible starting at the end of this month.

Deadline reports that distributor A24 will give SAINT MAUD limited theatrical play January 29, followed by an all-platform pay-TV debut from Epix on Feburary 12. The writing/directing debut of Rose Glass, it stars Morfydd Clark, Jennifer Ehle, Lilly Frazer, Lily Knight, Marcus Hutton, Turlough Convery and Rosie Sansom. The synopsis: “SAINT MAUD is a chilling and boldly original vision of faith, madness, and salvation in a fallen world. Maud [Clark], a newly devout hospice nurse, becomes obsessed with saving her dying patient’s soul–but sinister forces, and her own sinful past, threaten to put an end to her holy calling.”

Already released in the UK, SAINT MAUD received eight nominations for the London Critics’ Circle Film Awards announced today, including Best Film, Director, Screenwriter, Actress (Clark) and Supporting Actress (Ehle), as well as British/Irish Film of the Year and a nom for Clark as British/Irish Actress. The movie also grabbed a whopping 16 noms in the 2021 British Independent Film Awards,  including Best Film, Director, Actress, Supporting Actress and Screenplay, with Glass also receiving the Douglas Hickox Award.
